Currently I have been offered a job with a circus as the juggler and it will be my first tour. I was curious to see what is normal for a juggling act in getting paid. I understand since its a tour the price may not be as high as just a 1 day show. But would love to have some imput.

Thanks,

It depends Cody. Everyone is different in terms of their worth as an artist. If you have a big name, you make more money, plain and simple. Like eduardo said, each circus is different in respect to what they can or will pay. No-name circuses don't pay much and have little to offer in terms of conditions. But, you have to start somewhere so I would use each experience to learn from. Sometimes I have worked at a place and said to myself man, I could have asked for more than I did. And sometimes, I say man, I can't believe they can afford me. Touring has a different set of rules as well. Are they paying your accommodations and do they give you a per diem? You need to figure out what you will be happy with making per day or per show and ask for it. Obviously we would all love to make millions per show, but let's be realistic here, it's a circus and we are circus artists, that's it. Can you earn a nice living as one, yes. Will you become a millionaire from it? More than likely not. Good luck, I hope you can make a good decision.
